It’s amazing how you can read a quote and find meaning. Or not at all … completely depending on where you are in your journey at the moment you read it.
Below is a sample of love quotes I think can ignite a reflection, a moment of contemplation, that could lead to positive action.
I share a few of my own comments below each one, hope you find them to your liking.
I will add more as I find them :-)
They invented hugs to let people know you love them without saying anything
— Bil Keane
I love this one. Hugs are such a simple, and beautiful act. Words are not needed. If it is appropriate, and you want to express your love to someone but lack the words, just hug them.
I can still love an ex as a person, regardless if the breakup was bad. I would never wish anything negative on them. It takes more energy to hate them than to wish them well.
— Ashley Greene
I thought this one particularly important to share here — on a breakup site — because it is all too easy to let the negative energy consume you. Especially if the relationship can’t be saved and you are left to deal with that.
I think one great tip is that you should always love yourself. If you don’t love yourself, take care of yourself, cater to yourself and that little inner voice, you will really not be very worthy of being with someone else, because you won’t be the best version of you.
— Kimora Lee Simmons
So true. You HAVE to be comfortable and happy with yourself if you are to give your loved one the best of you. When you’re in no contact during the breakup you should be working on this one like mad!
Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.
— Lao Tzu
It takes balls to truly love someone. You are opening up yourself, you are vulnerable. It is how you let someone get close to you … which is courageous indeed.
Friends can help each other. A true friend is someone who lets you have total freedom to be yourself – and especially to feel. Or, not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at the moment is fine with them. That’s what real love amounts to – letting a person be what he really is.
— Jim Morrison
Love is not controlling or dictating another. It is the letting go and allowing them to be who they truly are.
Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye.
— H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
Sometimes you’ll see more than you can comprehend with your eyes or your brain … isn’t that love?
